About YouAreTheMethod

Exposing questionable sellers so you can make informed decisions.

What is YouAreTheMethod?

YouAreTheMethod is an investigative platform that researches sellers on Whop.com and other digital product marketplaces. We focus on categories prone to questionable practices: sports picks, trading signals, courses, and “make money online” products.

The name comes from a viral comment used to call out course sellers who make their money from selling courses about making money—not from any actual business ability. “You are the method” means the customer is the product.

We present facts and receipts. We don't editorialize or moralize. We show you what we found and let you draw your own conclusions.

Why We Exist

Platforms like Whop have become dominated by sellers making extraordinary claims. Many use rented luxury items, fake screenshots, and cherry-picked results to attract buyers.

There's no easy way to verify claims before purchasing. Reviews can be manipulated. Social proof can be bought. By the time you realize a product doesn't deliver, getting a refund is often impossible.

We exist to provide that verification layer. We research sellers so you don't have to.

Our Methodology

We use only publicly available information. Our research includes:

  • Independent tracking: We track picks and signals when possible to verify win rate claims.
  • Social media analysis: We archive posts, check for deleted content, and verify claimed results.
  • Background research: Public records, LinkedIn profiles, previous ventures, and business registrations.
  • Customer reports: Anonymous tips from actual customers who share their experiences.
  • Revenue estimation: Based on publicly visible subscriber counts, pricing, and Whop data.

How Trust Scores Work

Trust scores are calculated based on multiple factors:

ScoreMeaning
A+ / AVerified track record, transparent practices, minimal red flags
B+ / BGenerally legitimate with some concerns or inconsistencies
C+ / CNotable red flags, unverified claims, buyer should research
D+ / DSignificant concerns, multiple red flags, proceed with caution
FMajor issues identified, potential scam indicators, not recommended

Factors that affect scores:

  • Accuracy of claimed results vs. verified results
  • Transparency about pricing, refunds, and expectations
  • Background and track record of the seller
  • Number and severity of red flags
  • User reports and complaint patterns
  • Response to criticism and customer service quality

  • We don't accept payment to remove or improve scores
  • We don't make moral judgments about sellers
  • We don't recommend or endorse any products
  • We don't guarantee the accuracy of user reports
